Observe Restructured

At my photography subsite observe.mertl-research.at I’m presenting the outcome of my artistic research dealing with urban development, the human relation to earth and the earth itself.

I have put some effort into a redesign and restructuring of the codebase. Most important I have removed the complexity of using various frameworks for the page layout. I’m now using the foundation framework for the main layout, masonry for more advanced grid layout and some custom javascript for things that can’t be done with a general framework. Everything is built as a static html site using jekyll.

With this setup I have complete control over the design, a manageable source-code that can be tracked with a version control system and increased security at the webserver.
